My client wanted to bring some colour into his home through is back door so we created this bright and cheerful design which also has lots of meaning to him Learn more about it.
Hare Window
My clients asked me to create this little painted Hare window to fit in their converted barn Learn more about it.
Converted Chapel Poppy Window
My clients contacted me to replace a faux stained glass window that was peeling off with a real stained glass window that would last for many years to come. We designed this poppy window and the clients installed it themselves Learn more about it.
Narrowboat Cratch Window
I was asked if I could do anything with this lovely colourful stained glass cratch window. I’d never come across one like this before but always up for a challenge, I decided that this one could be a fun project to complete and would add to the diversity of work I have undertaken in my time with this wonderful craft. The problem it seemed was the window, being at the front of the boat, or cratch as it is known (I learnt so much!) was beginning to bow and because of this pieces of the glass had cracked or fallen out. It was in a sorry state and deserved a bit of tlc. The project was to re-lead the panel, replace the broken pieces and have it encapsulated between two pieces of toughened glass to make it beautiful again and protect it from the wear and tear of daily boating life. In order to prepare it for encapsulation, I also had to reduce the panel in size so that it would fit. If you are interested to watch the process I went throughfrom the beginning to completion, you can find this here on my instagram reel.
Under Stairs Encapsulated Art Window with Special Meaning
One of the joys of my craft is to be able to create unique gifts and pieces for client’s homes that they will treasure. This commission project was a very special stained glass leaded window that I created from my Hayfield client’s brief to be positioned in a purpose built space between the stairs and their lovely new kitchen to flood either side with colourful light at different times of the day. It included a hand painted silhouette of her late father and his four legged friend out walking in our beautiful local High Peak countryside, as he always loved to do. I had this window encapsulated with toughened glass for safety, security, easy cleaning and thermal purposes. Don’t you agree it looks fabulous backlit and a constant reminder of her dear father.
A Room with a View
My client came to me with a problem to solve which was how to hide the unsightley view from her living room window without blocking out the light.
There were 4 different sized double glazed windows which were in relatively new wooden frames. In order to cause the least amount of disruption and extra cost of having to completely take out and reglaze the windows, we came up with the perfect solution which was to make 4 separate matching panels that could be framed in zinc and fitted inside, within the existing frames, therefore allowing colours that matched the decor to flood into the room.
The client like the added benefit of being able to remove the panels for cleaning and taking them away to use again, should she ever move house, therefore leaving the existing windows intact.
Mark left his mark
Mark knew his late father would be immensely proud of him taking on a much loved local pub tenancy, The Lantern Pike Inn, so he decided to leave his mark as a surprise for his mum that would greet them every time they passed through the front door. Mark left me to it so I designed a couple of windows with his parents initials in keeping with the existing leaded design of his country pub windows and I added a little etched message in one of the corners that only him and his mum knew the meaning of!
It’s always lovely to know that I have made someone happy with my work.
I have completed many, many commission pieces for my lovely clients and here you can Read more about what clients have said…
