About Me...
How colour shaped my world
Redundancy in my early 20’s catapulted me into a travel adventure that took me across the globe where living and working in the red centre of the Australian Outback, the multicoloured sulphur landscape of New Zealand, the grey ash of spectacular volcanoes in Hawii and visiting the vibrant city of New York ignited an interest in how the colours in our environment can make us feel.
Hi, I’m Linda Sheldon and I live and work in the beautiful High Peak area of Derbyshire with my husband, two kids and a Spaniel called Sasha who can often be found sitting on my chair supervising me in my workshop!
I am lucky to live in such a stunning part of the UK where I need only look out my window to find inspiration.
2020 was a difficult year, made all the more challenging by a second redundancy from a coaching role I loved. Having been on my own personal voyage of discovery I knew how much pleasure I got from working with people to help them achieve their goals. I’ve always enjoyed learning new skills so I attended a local stained glass workshop in order to make a gift for Mother’s Day which I enjoyed and which started me off on the route of creating beautiful objects with coloured glass.
By sharing my new found hobby with friends and family I discovered that this fulfilled a creative side that I never knew I had and I could still work with people to help them find that perfect gift. It also became a great way for me to focus on the here and now, through the numerous stages of making a stained glass piece which has helped me personally weather the storm.
I noticed that others liked what I created and many pieces and smiles later, I founded LindaS Art Glass.
My very first piece!
